Position Overview

Applications are invited for a full-time community anatomic pathologist position with a start date as soon as possible. Although all candidates are encouraged to apply, candidates with fellowship training and/or significant working experience (at least 3 years or more) in breast, ENT or any other area will be preferred. You will join a group of 5 other pathologists based at the Queensway Carleton Hospital site. The work will consist of a wide range of community anatomic pathology cases from peripheral hospital sites with a significant number of breast, GU, and GI cases.

The minimum requirements to apply include a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree, license to practice in Ontario, and Royal College of Physicians (Canada) certification or equivalent in Anatomical Pathology.

As a pre-condition of employment, all new EORLA employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.

EORLA operates 18 regional hospital-based licensed clinical laboratories across the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (CLHIN) of Eastern Ontario including the Ottawa Hospital and the Children Hospital of Eastern Ontario. The laboratory staff includes over 725 Medical Laboratory Professionals, 70 Medical/Scientific staff and12 Pathology Residents.

EORLA operates 4 adult hospitals with more than 150,000 surgical specimens, 25,000 cytology specimens, 120 hospital autopsies and 1100 forensic autopsies. The group at the Ottawa Hospital provided subspecialty consultation service and has a subspecialty fellowship program.
